Olena Drozdova to attend annual СECJ and Council of Europe seminar on ECHR’s caselaw
The European Centre for Legal Cooperation (CECJ) and the Council of Europe will hold the seminar entitled ‘Successful application to the European Court of Human Rights: from theory to practice’ designed for advocates from countries leading in the number of complaints lodged with the ECHR.
Olena Drozdova, the manager of Drozdova & Partners Law Firm, attend the event to be run from 9 to 13 April 2018 in Strasbourg (France).

The seminar programme will cover the study of key issues related to applying to the ECHR, such as:
– admissibility criteria;
– rules of procedure of the ECHR as exemplified by Ukrainian cases;
– the use of legal views of the ECHR when proving in Ukrainian criminal and civil proceedings; and
– applying the ECHR’s interim measures in deportation or extradition cases.
The five-day course will include participation in an open court hearing, team practice sessions reviewing hypothetical situations and involving a role-playing trial.
The seminar will be delivered by judges and lawyers of the European Court of Human Rights and experts invited.
‘Lodging a complaint with the ECHR is an effective remedy for abuses of human rights that national courts fail to protect,’ Ms Drozdova comments. We are therefore intensifying our efforts in this sector, seeking to enforce the rights of persons who contact us for professional legal advice.’
