Mykhailo Honcharov has proved the lack of grounds for detention of a person arrested for a particularly grave offence

Drozdova & Partners Law Firm’s team has convinced the court to choose a measure of restraint that does not involve detention for a client arrested by police on suspicion of committing a particularly grave offence.

The investigating judge of the Pechersk District Court in Kyiv rejected the respective motion filed by the investigating officer and the prosecutor seeking the most stringent measure of restraint and imposed a more lenient one, namely home arrest.

Drozdova & Partners Law Firm’s Senior Partner Mykhailo Honcharov, who provided legal assistance to the suspect, based his tactics of defence on the lack of evidence supporting the charges and managed to convince the court that there were no procedural risks which would be necessary and sufficient for the choice of detention.
