It is proposed to legalize the retail sale of medicines via the Internet in Ukraine
Businesses entities that have a license in Ukraine for the retail sale of medicines may obtain the right to sell medicines to citizens through e-commerce.
It is proposed to enshrine the necessary norms on the legislative level. Six Members of Parliament prepared and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada the relevant draft Law #3615 “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Medicinal Products” (concerning the implementation of electronic retail trade in medicinal products)”.
The authors of the legislative initiative emphasize that in Ukraine today the law does not provide the possibility of remote trade in medicines.
However, the market for drug trade via the Internet is quite developed. And the existence of an uncontrolled market segment is unfavorable for both theparticipants of such market and for the state in general.
Among other things, the possibility of remote sales of medicinal products is explicitly provided for in Directive 2001/83/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 6 November 2001 on the Community code relating to medicinal products for human use.
